Welcome to OFI Turkey
After the successful launch of OFI Turkey in 2010, Oils & Fats International is delighted to announce that OFI Turkey 2012 will be taking place at the Istanbul Lutfi Kirdar Convention & Exhibition Centre.
OFI Turkey 2012 provides the definitive business experience combining a cutting edge commercial/ technical conference together with an exhibition showcasing the latest products and services from the worldwide oils and fats marketplace.
With a population of some 77M, Turkey bridges Europe and Asia and has the world’s 15th largest GDP (PPP). With more than three-quarters of its population living in towns and cities, 67% of the population within the 15-64 year age group, and growing per capita income, the country’s demographics are expected to contribute to the growth of the food sector.
Turkey produces some half of its domestic oilseed needs, its main crops being cottonseed and sunflower seed, while palm and soyabean oils are key imports. Domestic consumption of oils and fats is approximately 1.5M tonnes/year.
